GROCERY STORES
There is really only one grocery store locally in Atlantic City near by and it is Save A Lot. Our suggestion is to buy frozen food and dry goods at Save A Lot because they have the best prices. You can find small stores on every corner that sell food such as New La Cosecha Supermarket and Gram Bangla Food Grocery & Produce. These smaller supermarkets have a variety of fruits, vegetables, frozen meals, meat, seafood and more, however the prices are higher. The Walmart Superstore is about 8 miles away and you would need to take either an Uber or the New Jersey Transit Bus to get to it. Bus Route 551 has stops all nearby and will have a stop directly in front of Walmart Superstore.

TRANSPORTATION
Atlantic City has public transportation called the New Jersey Transit. You can purchase train tickets using the NJ TRANSIT Mobile App or a ticket vending machine (TVM) at the station. Ubers and Taxi’s are another option, but can be very expensive. The only ways to get around include: walking, biking, taking a taxi or purchasing a car. Rental cars are another option and great for long-distance trips. You can rent a car from Enterprise for 59 to 150 dollars per 24-hour period. You are required to have a valid license and buy insurance for an additional 30 dollars a day. If you are under 25 years old, you will also pay an additional fee of 25 dollars a day.
We suggest purchasing a bike from Walmart. They cost about $90 and can take you around the area quickly. Be sure to obey all traffic rules and always wear a helmet.

OceansFirst Bank is located at 1801 Atlantic Ave, Atlantic City, NJ 08401. This bank offers a checking account called Freestyle Checking and has no minimum balance requirement and no monthly fees for students.
TD Bank is located at 15 N Pennsylvania Ave, Atlantic City, NJ 08401. TD Convenience Checking has no monthly maintenance fee if you're between the ages of 17–23.
You can set up an account online or by going into the branch locations. Two forms of identification (passport, consular id, and/or driver's license with photo) (neither can be expired), social security number or tin number, proof of address, email address, basic personal information and $25 are required to open an account.
When you become a member at a bank you receive a debit card attached to your checking account. Visa debit cards are accepted almost anywhere. Having a checking account also allows you to have your paycheck directly deposited into your account so you don't have to physically deposit a paper check.
